Description

This exclusive private tour allows you access to prohibited places to the public: porcelain dining room, post-hunting room, Louis XV’s bedchamber, clock room, library, XVIIIe century bathroom, royal opera and/or chapel, etc.

After his state apartments, Louis XIV created a suite of rooms designed for more personal use, which opened onto the Marble Courtyard and the Royal Courtyard. Louis XV made many changes and extended the apartment to the upper floors, creating new rooms, work cabinets, dining rooms, libraries, scientific galleries, and laboratories. These apartments allowed the king to enjoy a certain amount of privacy. The space was also used by Louis XVI, who in turn adapted it to his own purposes.

Access restrictions

Objects like strollers, metallic baby carriers, canes, crutches, bulky luggage, umbrellas… are not allowed inside the rooms. To deposit these objects and enjoy your visit more comfortably, the Versailles Palace and the castles of Trianon offer free lockers at the various entrances. Suitcases and bags of large capacity are prohibited.

In all cases, only baggage not exceeding the maximum size (55cm x 35cm x 20cm) is allowed and must be deposited at the museum's instructions after being checked.
Security

Everybody must be prepared for security checks. The establishment thanks in advance its visitors for their understanding in case of possible slowdown induced by security controls at the entrances.
In application of Vigipirate plan, openings of the grids are modified, systematic checks of bags are carried out and a control of vehicle safes is carried out at the Queen's, gate.

In the event of an incident, you must first escape from the danger zone, alert the surveillance personnel and obey to their injunctions.
