Description
The tour starts with the exteriors of the museum. Vast courtyards, majestic perspectives and richly ornamented façades will serve us as visual media to briefly retrace the Louvre’s rich past. After this overview, we’ll go inside; your guide will have your tickets, and will take with you the skip-the-line access.
The tour will begin with the Medieval Louvre, to better understand the story of the Museum, the former royal Palace and the first castle protecting Paris. It will continue with Greek and Roman antiquities, including some of the Louvre’s must-sees: Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory, Diana of Versailles. Your guide will help you uncover connections between works of art from different times, crafting the exploration into a fluid and engaging story.
Enjoy some of the ultimate works of European art under one roof: paintings by Leonardo da Vinci (including, of course, Mona Lisa), Rafael, Veronese, Giotto, Botticelli, David, Géricault, Delacroix, sculptures by Michelangelo and Canova. Let yourself be transported by the power of these geniuses who shaped the history of art.
